Use this list to make sure you are bringing the right amount and quality of equipment to have an enjoyable camp with us.

White Stag Camper/Candidate Equipment List

Frame Backpack like Kelty Yukon, Coleman Peak 1 Flexframe, or similar multi-day backpack. In good repair, with spare pins and clips Sweater, jacket, windbreaker.  Dress with layers.  Three extra sets of underwear, socks (3 pair thin and 2 pair thick)  Bagged in plastic.
Hiking boots or shoes.  Mesh not recommended.  Lighter versions preferred. Sack lunch for first day.
Lightweight nylon backpacking tent for 2. Small flashlight with extra batteries.
Nylon, plastic, or Tyvek ground sheet, 6′x6′ Lightweight ensolite foam backpacking sleeping pad.  Strapped to backpack.
Mummy type backpacking sleeping bag less than 3 pounds.  Rated to 32˚ F. Light nylon or plastic poncho or rain jacket.
Khaki shorts or scout shorts, 2 pairs. Complete scout uniform if you are a scout.
Khaki pants or scout pants and belt.  No camo or jeans.  Bagged. Synthetic base layer clothing or thermal underwear, and/or pajamas
Scout shirts, or t-shirts (2)  Bagged. 2 pairs thin socks, 2 pairs thick socks.
Pair of sneakers, or sand shoes.  Pair of flip-flops (Zorries/thongs). Hat and sunglasses.  Knit cap.
Swimsuit and coverup. Bath towel & Smaller wash cloth.
Pens, pencil, notebook, (Silva) compass, pocket knife, disposable lighter, matches. Some laundry detergent to wash clothes.
Insect repellant, lip balm, sunscreen.  Anti-itch cream.  Bagged. Empty 1 or 2 liter juice container or bottle
Camera!  Bring USB cable to upload. Durable water bottle, not disposable type.
Your medication and instructions for use. Personal first aid kit
Personal toiletries: tooth brush, soap, etc. Bagged. Scout mess kit  and eating utensils or, plastic cup, and plastic bowl.

We ask you do not bring electronics, toys, gadgets, food, snacks, jewelry, weaponry, games, cards.  Please mark your personal belongings.  It is doubtful phones will work.

Additional items you may want to bring:

Sewing kit.  Buttons. Nylon rope to 50′, clothes pins.
Whistle, Kleenex, mini umbrella, thin gloves. Pint ,quart zip-lock bags, trash compactor bags (2) to keep gear dry.
Some rubber bands Toilet paper in plastic bag.

Pack weight should be around 20 to 25 pounds without water or tent.
